We are Daniela and Oscar and together we started Enciende La Mecha nine years ago.
Enciende la Mecha means “light the fuse” in English. What motivates us to create our unique hand-made notebooks is our love of design, paper, ink, and carefully and slowly making things with our hands in a world where everything seems to be mass-produced at high speed. We draw inspiration for our notebook covers from art, music, poetry, and the cosmology of the indigenous Mapuche people.
